But once these findings were published, they tended to\u00a0<strong>remain confined to academic journals, conferences, and specialist circles<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The insights rarely transformed into\u00a0<strong>practical tools<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>policy guidance<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>useful information<\/strong>\u00a0for communities, institutions, or the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This disconnect became increasingly visible.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It wasn\u2019t that scientific research lacked value\u2014on the contrary. The problem was that\u00a0<strong>research was not designed to be translated<\/strong>, communicated, or applied in meaningful ways outside the academic bubble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Realization That Sparked a Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO understood that if research is to contribute to society, someone must take responsibility for translating it. Someone must transform complex findings into\u00a0<strong>clear knowledge<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>actionable recommendations<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>solutions that speak to everyday realities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This realization became the foundation of a new idea, to build a center dedicated to bridging the gap between academia and society. A place where researchers, policymakers, and communities could meet on common ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Birth of the&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Ophiz<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Research Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From this vision emerged the&nbsp;<strong>Ophiz<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Research Center<\/strong>, created with a purpose that still guides every project today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To connect people, disciplines, and institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To transform academic knowledge into practical insight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To ensure that scientific research serves society, not just science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To  support governments and communities in navigating complex transformations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What began as a response to a systemic problem evolved into a structured mission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To <strong> act as a translator\u2014an interpreter\u2014of academic knowledge for the public good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>o <strong>Grow Into a European Research Force<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Over time, the center expanded into a dynamic ecosystem involving nearly\u00a0<strong>1,000 researchers<\/strong>\u00a0across disciplines, rooted in Slovenia but collaborating throughout the EU.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission that started in 2016 has since evolved into coordinated support for local and national institutions, contributing to EU transition processes, policy adaptation, and evidence-based decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story of&nbsp;Ophiz&nbsp;Research began with a simple but powerful insight:<br><strong>knowledge has no impact unless it is shared, understood, and applied.<\/strong><br>By turning this insight into action,&nbsp;Ophiz&nbsp;Research transformed a challenge into an institution\u2014one that continues to bridge worlds, empower communities, and bring science to the people it was meant to serve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Origin Story of&nbsp;Ophiz&nbsp;Research (2016 \u2013 Today) Back in\u00a02016, while already coordinating and implementing several ambitious research projects, the CEO of\u00a0Ophiz Research recognized a growing and troubling reality: Although extraordinary work was being done within academic institutions,\u00a0very little of it ever reached the people who could benefit from it most.
